Overview
The Granola integration lets you bring customer-facing meeting transcripts from Granola into Zell. After connecting your Granola workspace, you can review recent meetings, import selected meetings manually, and optionally enable auto-import for meetings that match your filters. Zell imports the Granola transcript, so no audio is sent to Zell. Imported meetings are analyzed like any other real call. Before You Start
- Zell admin access: only tenant admins can see and manage integrations in Zell.
- A Granola workspace API key: the key must be created by a Granola workspace admin. Granola API keys start with
grn_. - Matching users in Zell: each Granola meeting is assigned to the Zell user who owns the meeting in Granola. Zell matches the owner by email, then by name. Meetings whose owner is not a Zell user are not imported.
Setup Steps
1
Open Tenant Settings
At the bottom of the left sidebar, click Settings (the gear icon), then select Tenant Settings.Tenant Settings only appears for admins. Zell opens the Team overview first.
2
Find Granola Integration
In the settings menu on the left, scroll to the Integrations section and click Granola.
3
Enter Your API Key
Paste your Granola workspace API key into the API key field. You can use the visibility button next to the field to show or hide the key while entering it.
4
Choose Import Filters
Set the filters Zell should use to decide which Granola meetings are eligible for import:
- Include title keywords: only include meetings whose title contains one of these keywords.
- Exclude title keywords: filter out meetings whose title contains one of these keywords.
- Minimum duration: filter out meetings shorter than the selected number of minutes.
- Only meetings with external participants: filter out internal-only meetings.
- Auto-import matching meetings: allow Zell to import matching meetings automatically after the integration is connected.
5
Connect to Granola
Click Connect to Granola. Zell checks the API key with Granola, saves it together with your import filters, and shows the integration as connected. If Granola rejects the key, the connection fails and nothing is saved. Check that the key was created by a Granola workspace admin and copied in full.
Review Recent Meetings
Once connected, the Granola page shows Recent meetings: up to 30 Granola meetings from the last 30 days. Matching meetings are shown by default, and each row includes the meeting name, date, organizer, duration, and status. Statuses help you decide what to import:- Matches: the meeting matches your current filters and can be selected for import.
- Filtered: the meeting does not match one or more filters.
- Imported: the meeting has already been imported into Zell and cannot be selected again.
Meeting date and duration come from the calendar event linked to the Granola note. Notes without a calendar event have no duration, so they show as Too short whenever a minimum duration is set. You can still import them manually.
Show Filtered Meetings
Turn on Show filtered to include meetings that did not match your filters. Zell shows why a meeting was filtered:- Too short: the scheduled meeting is shorter than your minimum duration.
- Keyword missing: the title does not contain any of your include keywords.
- Excluded title: the title contains one of your exclude keywords.
- Internal only: all participants are from your own company.
Import Selected Meetings
To import meetings manually:- Select one or more meetings from the recent meetings list.
- Use the header checkbox to select or clear all visible importable meetings.
- Click Import.
- The Granola note has no transcript.
- The meeting owner in Granola does not match a Zell user.
- The meeting was already imported.
